About Me
From Hiding to Honest Visibility
Hi, I’m Francois.
For much of my life, I knew how to survive without truly allowing myself to be seen.
I adapted. I kept going. I tried to be what life and other people expected of me. But beneath the surface, I often struggled with fear, shame, self-doubt and the feeling that it was safer to remain hidden.
At 44, I find myself in the middle of a deeply personal rewrite—moving away from a life lived on autopilot and towards one that feels more honest, intentional and aligned with my own True North.
If you are also tired of hiding but do not yet feel confident enough to step forward, I created a free workbook to help you begin.

Why the Fear of Being Seen?
The fear of being seen is not always obvious.
Sometimes it looks like perfectionism, procrastination or endless preparation. Sometimes it appears as people-pleasing, overthinking, avoiding attention or waiting until we feel completely confident before we begin.
We may want to express ourselves, share our work, use our voice or build something meaningful—yet another part of us keeps pulling back.
I know this conflict personally.
My path has been shaped by co-dependency, the fog of substance abuse, the grief of losing both my parents and the long process of learning how to come back to myself.
For years, survival was enough.
Eventually, it wasn’t.
Something in me began asking for a more honest life. Not a louder life. Not a perfectly confident life. Simply one in which I no longer had to abandon myself to feel safe or accepted.
That question became the heart of Francois’ Footsteps.
What Being Seen Really Means
Being seen does not mean sharing everything with everyone.
It does not mean becoming loud, constantly visible or comfortable with attention. It also does not require us to perform a polished version of ourselves for approval.
To me, being seen means allowing more of our true thoughts, needs, creativity, beliefs and personality to exist in the world.
It means learning to say:
- This is what I think.
- This is what matters to me.
- This is what I need.
- This is what I have created.
- This is who I am becoming.
Sometimes being seen is public. Other times, it is as quiet as setting a boundary, accepting a compliment, asking for support or expressing an honest opinion.
My Philosophy
I do not believe healing is about becoming perfectly polished, endlessly positive or spiritually superior.
Healing is much more human than that.
It is the messy and often uncomfortable process of bringing our shadow and light into the same room. It is learning to face fear without abandoning ourselves. It is questioning the stories we inherited, softening the shame we carry and discovering who we are beneath expectation, performance and survival patterns.
This space is built around that work.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
But presence, honesty, courage and integration.
What You’ll Find Here
Through Francois’ Footsteps, I explore the journey from hiding to honest self-expression.
My blog, YouTube channel and workbook look at the psychological, emotional, spiritual and practical sides of becoming more visible.
This includes:
Understanding Why We Hide
Exploring the protective patterns, past experiences, internal rules and fear of judgment that can make staying small feel safer.
Jungian Psychology and Shadow Work
Using archetypes, shadow work and psychological reflection to understand the unconscious patterns shaping our choices, fears and relationships.
Divination and Mysticism
Exploring Tarot, Lenormand, Oracle cards and the Elder Futhark Runes as reflective tools for self-awareness and deeper inner dialogue—not as shortcuts that remove personal responsibility.
Creative Sovereignty
Learning to express ourselves more honestly, share our gifts and take meaningful action before perfect confidence arrives.
Grounded Visibility
Practising boundaries, nervous-system awareness and manageable acts of courage so that visibility becomes safer and more sustainable.

A Fellow Traveller
I am not here as a guru, and I do not claim to have mastered healing, spirituality or the human psyche.
I am a fellow traveller—someone learning how to bridge a rich inner world with consistent, honest action in the real world.
This space is for those who are tired of pretending.
For those who know they have something inside them but remain afraid to share it.
For the overthinkers, late bloomers and quiet creators.
For anyone who senses that there must be more to life than simply surviving.
You do not need to become fearless before you begin.
You only need one honest, manageable step towards being seen.
Let’s navigate the map together.
